Frictional Games, the creators behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Penumbra have shared a new trailer for their next horror title, Soma. The new trailer, Theta, gives us a little bit of insight into the twisted futuristic realm we’re in at Pathos-2’s remote research facility.
It seems that the station has been cut off from communications and weird, freaky things are going down (because that’s what happens in horror games). Freaky in a bad way—the machines seem to have begun taking on human traits… which the gameplay teaser on its main website suggests quite handily with the strange “research” going on.
Alien constructions have begun popping up in the installation, and apparently the only way out is to “do something unimaginable”. Which sounds a little bit like suicide, if the new trailer is anything to go by. You can view more of the trailers over at the developer’s YouTube page.
Soma is planned for release on PC and PlayStation 4 in 2015.
