The Senran Kagura cooking/music game spinoff, Dekamori Senran Kagura will be localized into Chinese too. Producer Kenichiro Takaki announced the news at the Taipei Game Show.
Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia has been actively helping third party Japanese developers localize text heavy games into Chinese. Danganronpa from Spike Chunsoft, Akiba’s Trip 2 from Acquire, Disgaea D2 from Nippon Ichi Software, Drakengard 3 from Square Enix, Dragon’s Crown from Atlus, and later this year The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash plus its sequel will have a Chinese version.
It’s interesting to see so many titles get localized, but not too unusual for Sony to help developers expand into other regions. Sony Computer Entertainment Korea, for example, published Korean localized versions of Persona 3 and Persona 4 before they were released in the West and way before the Persona series took off.
