Aksys Grabbed A DS Strategy RPG From GungHo?

GungHo games the publisher of Ragnarok Online DS and the upcoming Lunar remake also has a strategy RPG in their catalog. Hero’s Saga Laevatein quietly shipped in Japan last year. We mentioned it, but Laevatein caught little attention.

In spite of little buzz it looks like Laevatein will head overseas, but without help from Xseed. Hero of video game leaks, Gamefly, says a game called Laevatein Tactics will be ready in October (thanks wario4ever and Macstorm!). Aksys is listed as the publisher and given the name it’s very likely related to Hero’s Saga Laevatein. The date is likely a placeholder so we’ll mark this down a possible fall release for the Nintendo DS.

Aksys has mostly acted like Arc System Works USA, but occasionally they pick up RPGs like From the Abyss. Looks like Gungho is really expanding this year with Grandia Online going into beta and multiple international releases.
