Natsume has more Harvest Moon games slated for 2009 and these aren’t puzzle spin-offs. Harvest Moon: Animal Parade and Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands stick to what the series is known for crops and cuddly creatures.

Harvest Moon: Animal Parade is a localized version of Harvest Moon: Waku Waku Animal March which Marvelous brought to the Wii last year. A domestic release is scheduled for this fall. In the game players search for five bells to call the Harvest King and grow the Harvest Goddess’ tree on hippoback. Harvest Moon: Animal Parade has lots of animals you can ride and train. Teach tricks to penguins then share the photos by sending them via WiiConnect 24.

Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands takes characters from Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness and brings them into a new DS game. An earthquake shook up and sunk some of the islands many years ago. It’s up to you to raise them by finding the Sun Stones. Or maybe not. You can also spend your time living a quiet farming, family, fishing, mining, and badger caring life when Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands comes out this summer.
