Upon beating Dragon Quest Monsters 2’s remake on Nintendo 3DS, players will have access to additional content. One of these is a feature that allows you to create SS rank monsters without having to go through the trouble of breeding generations of monsters. Famitsu shares a little information on this new method of fusion.

Up until now in the Dragon Quest Monsters series, you’ve been able to fuse monsters by getting two monsters of separate genders to make a child. The offspring would then have skills and abilities of their parents, and would continue getting stronger after each generation.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2 has a new feature called “New Life Fusion” that allows you to instantly obtain a SS ranked monster from any family. Additionally, you’ll get to switch out any of the monster’s characteristic traits with one from the parents.

Square say the New Life Fusion method might sound useful, but it won’t be an easy task, as there are various conditions that must be met in order to pull it off.

Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru and Luca’s Marvelous Mysterious Key comes out on February 6, 2014 for Nintendo 3DS.
