Nintendo of America seemed to skip Lightspeed Card Battle: Card Hero, a fast paced Nintendo DS card battling game. The game came out in Japan in December 2007, we played it, and there hasn’t been a murmur about a domestic release until now.
Multiple trademarks, registered by Nintendo, for Card Hero appeared on the US Patent and Trademark database. This may sound odd, but it’s typical Nintendo practice to register a bunch of trademarks for one game. They did this for Wii Fit, Wii Music, Wii Sports Resort, and Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. Now Card Hero, an offbeat property, is getting the same treatment. Nintendo has not registered trademarks for other Japanese games like Soma Bringer and Disaster: Day of Crisis so this doesn’t seem like a protective trademark like Super Mario Sisters.
So, is Nintendo working on the DS game Lightspeed Card Battle: Card Hero? Is a Wii version in the works? Or is the name Card Hero too good for Nintendo to give up?
