It’s been a year since we saw the last Harvest Moon game on Nintendo 3DS, and we’re now going to see another one in Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land, which is already looking a lot nicer than its predecessor. The latest update on the game’s official website shares a look at some of its new features.

In Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land, you won’t be the only rancher in the village, as there will also be others who run their own crops and more. The other ranchers will be considered your seniors in the farming world, and will help you out, occasionally needing your help as well. Here’s a look at some of the new characters.

Elize is shown wondering how others mange with such small houses. Meanwhile, Edda is shown giving words of encouragement to the new rancher.

Fritz is wondering if he should let someone else borrow one of his crops, while Veronica is shown kicking off the Summer Chicken Festival.

Producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto previously mentioned that Harvest Moon: Connect to a New World’s title has a meaning of “connecting to the game’s world” by using a Trade Station to ship your crop to other countries. The above images show what it’ll look like to do business with foreign traders.

In addition to the new Safari area, where you’ll get to encounter never-before-seen animals to the series, like the older games in the series, you’ll be able to catch insects and interact with various animals by visiting the mountain.

As previously mentioned, there will be more activities to do around rivers. This time, you’ll get to go for a swim to catch fish and find other items under water.

Harvest Moon: Connect to a New Land will be released on February 2014 for Nintendo 3DS.
