Tactics Ogre and Vagrant Story creator Yasumi Matsuno is working on a new strategy role-playing game for “a variety of digital devices,” titled Unsung Story.
Actually, make that two games. Unsung Story is being developed as two separate titles, in collaboration with the developer named Playdek, who develop hobby and tabletop games. The first game is Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians, which is the aforementioned strategy RPG.
Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians will take place in the fantasy world Rasfalia that has been through half a century of war. As you play the game, you’ll discover tales of heroic deeds and the root of legends that were told in the aftermath of the war.
“I’m pleased to be creating this amazing world and rich story exclusively for Playdek,” said Yasumi Matsuno. “It’s exciting to develop my vision with the leading company of the genre. I look forward to bringing this new world to life and reaching a new audience of avid gamers.”
The second Unsung Story game will be a card game for digital devices and will be co-designed by Christophe Boelinger, who is a renowned board game designer from France. The game will pit two players against one another in battle.
Both Unsung Story games will allow for both offline and online play. The card game will be released at some point in 2014, with the RPG to follow at a later point in time.
