The Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma has mentioned the possibility of remaking The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask in the past. His most recent comments on the subject, however are both playful and troll-ish.

“Please write that I laughed,” Aonuma told IGN in response when they asked for his comments on a potential Majora’s Mask remake. “Don’t make it sound like I laughed because I was troubled or inconvenienced or put out. I don’t want them to read anything into it. But if you want to say that I laughed, I think that would be a good answer.”

When asked how his laugh—an art mastered by Nintendo developers—should be interpreted by readers, Aonuma replied, “It’s really up to them. If they want to interpret my laughter as, ‘yeah, we’re making it’ or ‘no, we’re not,’ I guess that’s really up to them.”

This fall, Nintendo are releasing two Zelda games, both throwbacks to older titles. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is a spiritual successor to A Link to the Past and takes place in the same world as that game. Meanwhile, Wind Waker HD is an HD remake of the original Wind Waker with new features.
