Bravely Default: For The Sequel Has Revised Battle System, English Language Option

Nintendo has not confirmed if the version of Bravely Default coming overseas will be based on Bravely Default: For the Sequel, but here’s something interesting – one of the features in Bravely Default: For the Sequel is it has multiple language options. Players can choose Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

The battle system, which lets players choose Brave to use turns in advance or Default to stock turns, has been enhanced with features from the Bravely Default sequel currently in development. Battle tempo is faster too with options to speed up the pace of attack effects and an Auto Battle feature that makes it easier to level up. Bravely Default: For the Sequel also has an event viewer and the user interface was tweaked to show more information at a glance like which equipment works with different jobs.

 

Want to spend less time fighting? You can change the encounter rate in the options menu. Square Enix also upgraded the party chat scenes and the quality of graphics in towns. This screenshot shows the original Bravely Default on top and Bravely Default: For the Sequel below it.

Players can transfer their save data from the original game into For the Sequel. Bravely Default: For the Sequel also has three save slots while the original game only has one. Events in chapter 7 and chapter 8 revolving around Asterisk have been revised too with expanded battle events.

 

Bravely Default: For the Sequel is slated for release on December 5 in Japan. Nintendo will publish Bravely Default in Europe in late 2013 and the game is slated for release in North America next year.
