Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara is out now in North America with unlockable concept art and the house rules feature that lets players tweak how the game plays. Japan will get a compilation of Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara and Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom, but their version, Dungeons & Dragons: Mystara Hero Chronicle, has tweaks not in the Western release.

Mystara Hero Chronicle lets players adjust the difficulty, which will equip characters with magical items if you dial the difficulty down. You can also play through the game with all four players using the same character type. Who needs variation when you have four fighters throwing burning oil at enemies? Capcom also added a color editor to the two Dungeons & Dragons arcade game.

In addition to the retail version, Capcom announced Dungeons & Dragons: Mystara Hero Chronicle will be released as a PlayStation Network download too. However, the game will be the same price as a disc copy – 3,990 yen ($40). Dungeons & Dragons: Mystara Hero Chronicle is slated for release on August 22.
