Capcom announced a new Strider game at their Comic-Con panel this afternoon. The game will use a 2.5D perspective and will feature non-linear, interconnected environments, similar to the Metroid games.

Strider will be able to upgrade himself with new abilities, and these will be used to defeat enemies in different ways, as well as access different parts of the game’s large map.

The game is being developed by Double Helix, who are also working on the new Killer Instinct game for Xbox One. Strider will be released for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in early 2014.

Siliconera will have more to report on Strider soon. Look out for an interview with Capcom about the game in the near future as well.
