Update: Nintendo have confirmed to Siliconera that you simply need to have Fire Emblem: Awakening registered by August 31st to be eligible for the promotion. It doesn’t matter when you bought and registered that game, so early buyers are in on the promotion, too.
Nintendo are promoting two Nintendo 3DS RPGs via Club Nintendo—the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem: Awakening, which was released earlier in the year. If you register both games on Club Nintendo in North America by August 31st, you’ll receive $30 of credit for the Nintendo eShop.
Here’s how it works—both Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem: Awakening come with Club Nintendo codes inside their boxes. You need to register both games on the service and fill out their registration surveys by August 31st. If you buy them digitally, and your 3DS is linked up to your Club Nintendo account, they’ll automatically get registered, but you’ll still have to go to Club Nintendo and fill their surveys out.
It sounds like this isn’t just for recent Fire Emblem: Awakening buyers, but for those of us that already own the game as well. Nintendo mention that, in the event that you purchased the Fire Emblem: Awakening Nintendo 3DS bundle earlier this year, you’ll need to link that specific 3DS to your Club Nintendo account to qualify for the promotion. We’ve gotten in touch with Nintendo to confirm.
You can find more details on the promotion here.
While there’s no connection between Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem: Awakening, Nintendo and Atlus are collaborating on a crossover RPG for Wii U, titled Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem.
