The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds gives Link a new power that turns him into a doodle on the wall. We played A Link Between Worlds and the Super Paper Mario-esque shifting is a key gameplay mechanic.

link "Do you remember Phantom Gannon? He appeared in the wall and then came out," said Eiji Aonuma before I stepped up to play the game. "The idea of 2D and 3D, shifting between two dimensions is always something I wanted to do and with Link Between Worlds that is something we are going to have Link do."

I tried to get Aonuma to talk about their relationship with Grezzo too. Grezzo was founded by Koichi Ishii, the creator of Secret of Mana. They announced Line Attack Heroes for Wii, which started life as a retail game… but was ultimately released for WiiWare… only in Japan. Grezzo worked closely with Nintendo on two Zelda ports, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition for DSiWare and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D for Nintendo 3DS. Unfortunately, Aonuma said he couldn’t comment on Grezzo’s future plans. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is in development at Nintendo’s EAD department.
