Deadman’s Cross Sounds Like A Sequel To Square Enix’s Guardian Cross

Guardian Cross is a free to play card battling game from Square Enix designed by Final Fantasy’s ATB battle system creator Hiroyuki Ito. In the game you collect Guardians by shooting a magical rifle. These Guardians can be used when you’re in battle with other players.

Square Enix released Guardian Cross for iOS last year. The title seems to be fairly successful with over a million downloads and Square Enix even had a tie up with Final Fantasy V when the iOS version came out.

Perhaps, Square Enix is working on an expansion or a sequel? In Europe, Square Enix filed a trademark for Deadman’s Cross. The way the trademark is filed suggests Deadman’s Cross is a title from Square Enix Japan. Right now, Square Enix hasn’t said much about their mobile games lineup other than announcing Deus Ex: The Fall. Maybe we’ll see Guardian Cross pop up at E3.
