This week’s Famitsu magazine gives us a first look at Monster Hunter 4’s terrorizing snake dragon, Garara Ajara, along with some new details surrounding the Charge Axe.
Garara Ajara:
Garara Ajara uses its long snake-like body to entangle its prey. To top it off, the beast’s fangs are covered in venom, making it a formidable enemy for hunters.
The issue also introduces a new insect-type monster, called Kunchuu. These insects will be a little tougher to handle than your regular Altaroths, as they tend to attack in groups and will roll themselves into balls to fend off hunters. They also happen to be Yian Kut-Ku’s favorite food.
New Charge Axe details have also surfaced this week. In Sword mode, you’ll get to do whirling slashes, finishing hits and dashing attacks. The Charge Axe will have horizontal finishers as part of its normal attacks and also has a finishing attack that changes it to its Sword mode.
Attacking will charge its sword energy, which is used for charge attacks. Without sword energy, it will simply overheat and your charge attack will have a chance of not hitting. You can find more Charge Axe details in this previous report.
Monster Hunter 4 is slated to be released this summer in Japan for Nintendo 3DS.
