Warner Bros. have announced Batman: Arkham Origins via Game Informer magazine. Unlike the previous Batman: Arkham games, this one is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal rather than the series’ usual developer, Rocksteady. WB Montreal will be using the same technology as Rocksteady did to keep the look of the game consistent with its predecessors.

Batman: Arkham Origins takes place several years before Batman: Arkham Asylum, and features a younger Batman running into a number of supervillains for the very first time. Among the villains in the game is Deathstroke.

Batman: Arkham Origins is slated for release on October 25th for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U.

Additionally, a spin-off title, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, is in development for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita. Blackgate will be a 2.5D Metroid-style game that will take place after the events of Origins and is being developed by Armature Studio, which was founded by key members of the team that worked on the Metroid Prime games at Retro Studios.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will be released on the same day as Batman: Arkham Origins. You can watch a teaser for the games above.
