One of Siliconera’s readers recently got in touch with me to let me know that Agatsuma Entertainment, publishers of Farewell Umihara Kawase, have plans to bring the game overseas. David sent me a helpful screenshot of his e-mail correspondence with Agatsuma’s support line for proof, and I followed up with the publisher to see if they would provide further comment.
General manager at Agatsuma, Rica Kuno Matsumura, replied to me by e-mail: “Yes, we are planning to release [Farewell Umihara Kawase] in future, but not fixed anything yet. Maybe we will discuss during E3 with other new titles?”
Farewell Umihara Kawase has multiple playable characters. Series protagonist Umihara Kawase is now 20-years-old, but you can also play as her kid version. Read more about the game’s characters in this report.
Prior to Farewell Umihara Kawase, Agatsuma Entertainment published a side-scrolling brawler named Code of Princess. Atlus USA published that game in the U.S. while Agatsuma self-published the game in Europe as a download-only release.
