The Young Justice TV show might have been cancelled, but the team will live on in a multiplayer action RPG scheduled for release later this year.

Young Justice: Legacy takes place between seasons 1 and 2 of the TV show, and is written in collaboration with show writers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti. Confirmed playable characters in the game include: Nightwing, Superboy, Aqualad, Artemis, Miss Martian, Kid Flash, Robin, Rocket, Tempest, Zatanna, Beast Boy, and Batgirl.

Since it takes place between the two seasons of the TV show, the game’s developer, Little Orbit, are treating Young Justice: Legacy as a “season 1.5” of sorts. They say the game will explore what happened during the five-year gap between seasons 1 and 2, and is going to be considered a part of the series’ canon.

In addition to the Young Justice team operating as their own team, the game will also feature “mentor missions,” where members of the team will operate alongside a senior member of the Justice League, like Superman or Batman.

Young Justice: Legacy is in development for the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The game will be available this September.
