Square Enix Europe have filed a trademark for something titled Lara Croft: Reflections in the U.S., Siliconera has discovered.
The natural assumption would be that this is some sort of upcoming story DLC for Tomb Raider, but in a recent Q&A on Reddit, Tomb Raider global brand director Karl Stewart stated that all upcoming DLC for the game will be multiplayer-focused.
“There are currently no plans in place for any Single Player expansions,” Stewart shared. “All of our DLC is based around the Multiplayer experience for now.”
“For now,” however, means that single-player DLC is still a possibility in the future. Perhaps Lara Croft: Reflections is some sort of side-story or epilogue? In a recent interview with Siliconera, Crystal Dynamics creative director Noah Hughes shared that he feels there’s still room to do more things with Lara after the end of Tomb Raider.
“In this story, we’re working on re-imagining and re-architecting Lara’s character first and foremost, but then we bring her off of the island and back out into the world, and we get to resolve more things beyond the island as it relates to Lara’s backstory and things like that,” Hughes said.
