Nintendo Bringing EarthBound To Japan In March, Game Will Be 30 Yen

Nintendo announced a slightly different Virtual Console line up for the Famicom’s 30th anniversary. Instead of Punch Out! Featuring Mr. Dream, Japan will get Mother 2: Gyiyg’s Counterattack better known as EarthBound in the West. The Super Famicom game will cost 30 yen. Perhaps, this is the news Shigesato Itoi was teasing.

Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem will be available in February for just 30 yen too. North America will get F-Zero instead.

 

Here’s Japan’s list of 30th Anniversary Famicom games:

  • January – Balloon Fight
  • February – Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem
  • March – EarthBound
  • April – Kirby’s Adventure
  • May – Super Metroid
  • June – Yoshi
  • July – Donkey Kong
