In Square-Enix’s Jump Fiesta trailer they show off new gameplay footage, but nothing is really explained about how Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Ring of Fates has changed from the Gamecube game. They both have similar looking characters, but Ring of Fates has a much more cohesive story line than Crystal Chronicles barebones pilgrimage quest. There are two main characters Yuri and Cherinka are twins who both appear to be Clavats. They’re joined up by a Yuke (the magic casting type) and the Lilty Misu. Besides set characters Square-Enix has changed around the gameplay in Ring of Fates. The crystal bucket, which restricted movement is gone and you have a MP meter at the bottom of the screen. Also the single player mode shows off more puzzles where you’re going to have to push blocks and jump around to pass levels. While cooperative play was a huge part of the Gamecube game, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates doesn’t make it as integral. This might not be a bad decision because playing Crystal Chronicles alone got boring fast. There still is wireless multiplayer where four people can link up, but it doesn’t look like you’re going to be using a custom character. All of the multiplayer screenshots show the same four characters: Yuri, Cherinka, Misu and the Yuke on the same screen.
