Dragon’s Dogma, which has sold 1.05 million copies to date, has exceeded expectations in Japan, Capcom announced today in their report for their first fiscal quarter, ended June 2012.
While the game has exceeded expectations in their home market, Capcom admit that Dragon’s Dogma has “struggled abroad”. As some may recall, the game sold 92,000 copies upon release in the U.S. Capcom once again reiterate that they plan to turn Dragon’s Dogma into a new franchise.
Meanwhile, we also have updated numbers for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. That game sold another 450,000 copies in Capcom’s first quarter, bringing total worldwide sales to 2.1 million copies. Capcom attribute the added sales to DLC, which helped ongoing sales.
