Microsoft celebrates the anniversary of Halo with some Halo 3 news

Today marks the fifth year of the Xbox and Halo: Combat Evolved’s big birthday. To celebrate Master Chief’s foray into the video game world there are some new details about the franchise. First there are going to be new multiplayer maps for Halo 2 only for the Xbox 360. More exciting is that Halo 3 is going to have a public beta in Spring 2007. That’s right everyone with an Xbox 360 is going to be able to play Halo 3 before it is released. While that’s far in the distance Halo fans can get a sneak peek of Halo 3 during Monday Night Football on December 4th. THe commercial will display CG scenes since the final gameplay footage isn’t ready to be shown. If you don’t want to schedule your evening to watch the ad, it will be on the Xbox Live Marketplace for download at later time.
