Demon’s Souls Haunts Japan In February

Oh, that was fast. Demon’s Soul’s release date just went from sometime in 2009 to February 5 in Japan. From my experience playing Demon’s Souls at TGS it has a King’s Field feel right down to the damage controlling power bar.

What I didn’t get to try out during the demo was haunting other players in Demon’s Souls network mode. Players can leave messages for other players to point out treasure chests or warn them of impending danger. I presume some less friendly players will use this to trick players into running into a monster den too. If you happen to perish in the tower you leave a bloodstain behind and another player can step on the bloodstain they can see your grisly fate in a phantom replay. Creepy.
