At E3 2011, Ken Berry, Director of Publishing at Xseed, said it would be "absolutely great" to be there alongside the launch of PlayStation Vita. While Xseed wasn’t there at launch day, they weren’t too far behind with Sumioni, which was released as a PlayStation Network download on March 20.

"We still have faith in the platform. It’s still early in the lifecycle. I know Sony has a lot of good stuff up their sleeve for Vita, so we’re not really concerned," Berry said to Siliconera. By the end of 2012, Xseed will have released at least three PlayStation Vita titles and Ragnarok Odyssey sounds like it’s going to be one of their strongest games this year.

"Ragnarok Odyssey, we announced that recently, it is off to a strong start in terms of pre-orders," Berry commented after I asked him which of Xseed’s games, aside from The Last Story, does he see as a top seller. "I think Ragnarok Odyssey will do really well, like I was saying we do watch our own forums and we had tons and tons of requests for that title."

In Japan, Game Arts added a bunch of extra content including a free upgrade for online play after the game launched. I wondered if Xseed planned on adding extras like the bonus missions and online play feature right on the cart.

"We are trying for that, especially when you get down to anything released as free DLC as Japan. Hopefully, we can put that on to the game cart in the US," Berry replied. "There are also size limitations we have to worry about. There is some content that may need to come afterwards. We’re working it out with the dev. team and they definitely want to put as much content on as possible for the U.S. release."

Ragnarok Odyssey is slated for a summer release in stores and on PSN in North America.
