You may recall that, last year, NIS America announced a game titled Clan of Champions for release in North America. Titled Gladiator Vs. in Japan, the game was a PlayStation 3 title in NIS’s home market, but the publisher expanded it to the other two platforms for the west—the Xbox 360 and PC (via Steam).

This evening, however, NIS America announced that Clan of Champions will not be released for the Xbox 360 after all. Instead, the game will be released via the PlayStation Network this summer, and a Steam release will follow later in the year.

Clan of Champions is an arena-based fighter where you select a human male, female elf or an orc, and customize their appearance and gear. From there, you can play in 3-person team co-op mode, or in 3-on-3 versus battles.

Clan of Champions’ cancellation means that NIS have no announced projects scheduled to be published on the Xbox 360. When we asked NIS America president, Haru Akenaga, whether the company had plans for Xbox 360 development last year, he told us: “We are planning to do so, but cannot release any details at this moment.”
