As previously reported, Hitman Absolution starts out with Agent 47 killing Diana, his longtime handler for the Agency. This is your first mission in the game, and after you carry it out, Diana makes a dying request for you to find a girl named Victoria, which 47 then takes on as a personal mission.

Recently at PAX East, IO Interactive conducted a Q&A session with Hitman fans to answer questions about Absolution. One of the new features that was brought up was that, if you tip an alarm or get noticed while snooping around, you can contain the situation.

In previous Blood Money, being noticed or drawing suspicion would alert all enemies in the stage to your presence. In Absolution, the stages are larger, so you can contain a situation by taking out enemies before they have a chance to relay information to each other.

IO also confirmed that “outlandish killings” are still present in Hitman Absolution, although they didn’t provide any examples. The game is scheduled for release this fall. Pre-ordering from GameStop will net you a bonus game called Hitman: Sniper Challlenge, which you can download this week.
