Kid Icarus: Uprising’s release last week marked the rebirth of Kid Icarus worldwide, and that includes Japan as well. In its first week, the game sold over 132,00 copies, coming it at the #1 spot. While those are decent first-week sales, they aren’t extraordinary. The next few weeks will tell the real story, as we observe whether or not Uprising can stand its ground in the top-20.

Right behind Uprising at #2 was Black Panther: Yakuza Asura Chapter for the PSP with 105,000 copies. At #4 was Capcom’s Devil May Cry HD Collection, followed by Ninja Gaiden 3 at #5. Compile Heart managed to squeeze into the top-10 as well, with Mugen Souls for the PS3.

Last week also saw the release of the Cobalt Blue Nintendo 3DS, and this bumped up sales of Monster Hunter Tri G, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land, all of which saw an increase of 20-30% over the prior week. On that note, next week’s chart is going to be one to look out for, as we’ll find out sales for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
