Now that patch 1.21 is out, the Final Fantasy XIV development team is working on patch 1.22.
The main feature in this patch will be Garuda, a new primal, that producer, Naoki Yoshida, promises will be a challenging fight. 1.22 will also include more storylines and world quests to the game.
Another major feature in 1.22 will be new Materia crafting recipes. The patch will add new Materia types, make certain unique or untradable items convertible into Materia, and will also adjust the stats for existing Materia. Additionally, the Materia user interface will be tweaked, too.
Adjustments will also include changes to job balance. With regard to jobs, new job-exclusive weapons are planned, too, but these may or may not be put off until patch 1.22a.
Yoshida says the team hope to release patch 1.22 before the end of April, prior to the Golden Week holiday in Japan.
