Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon Plus has second disc with a mysterious version of Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne. We know quite a bit about the new entry in the Devil Summoner series, but what does Radiou do in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax Chronicle Edition? It looks like he fills Dante’s role.
A video on Nico Nico (registration required) shows the Demifiend running into Raidou for the first time. The scene is different from Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax since Raidou doesn’t leap off a building. When the two clash it really looks like Raidou has Dante’s moves too. His sword combo is like Dante’s rebellion except one of his summoned demons does the final strike. There is probably more to Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax Chronicle Edition that we don’t know about, but the differences don’t appear to be dramatic like making Raidou the protagonist. Also, Raidou remains a silent character in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Maniax Chronicle Edition. Goto, his black cat, does all of the talking.
Since Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne doesn’t have any voice acting and this doesn’t look like a major overhaul Atlus could release Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Maniax Chronicle Edition in North America similarly to Persona 3: FES. While Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne has been reprinted a handful of times a $20 – $30 re-release with Raidou would still be a hot item.
