Batman: Arkham City may have inspired TT Games, the Warner Bros. studio that handles all of the Lego video games. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has an open world for players to explore. Superman can fly around Lego Arkham City and search for missions in the upcoming video game. When he’s beating down Lex Luthor, Superman can use laser eyes in addition to his super strength.
Lego Arkham City, as seen when TT Games demoed it, is fairly large and since Superman can fly he might be the best explorer. So, why would you want to play as anyone else? TT Games explained some characters who have to walk through Arkham City have abilities to get specific collectables on the map. Also, Batman doesn’t have to walk. He can use the Batwing to whiz around too. From what we saw, walking looks like a chore since Superman can move much faster through the open world. He knows this too and when Superman lands he smugly poses.
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes has drop in and drop out cooperative play just like the other games, but what happens in Arkham City if two people play as Superman and want to fly in opposite directions? In Arkham City, Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes splits the screen vertically with player one on the left and player two on the right.
Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes comes out on June 1 for pretty much every platform on the market – PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Vita, DS, and 3DS.
