A release date for Diablo III? No, you aren’t still in bed. This is the real deal. Activision Blizzard announced this morning that Diablo III will launch worldwide on May 15th for PC and MC.

The game will be available at both retail stores and Battle.net in the U.S., Canada, Europe, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Meanwhile fans in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Russia will need to wait until June 7th to buy at retail. Alternatively, they will be able to buy it over Battle.net on May 15th.

“After many years of hard work by our development team and months of beta testing by hundreds of thousands of dedicated players around the world, we’re now in the homestretch,” says Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We look forward to putting the final polish on Diablo III over the next two months and delivering the ultimate action-RPG experience to gamers worldwide starting on May 15.”

Global pre-orders for Diablo III are available now, both at stores and on Battle.net
