Here’s what happened. The video game retailer pulled the game from their system since it didn’t have a firm release date which led to automatic phone calls to people who reserved the game.

"The Last Guardian has not been cancelled by Sony as we incorrectly stated in an automated call to reservation customers. Because the game did not have a specific release date, GameStop made the decision to remove the game from our system. The Last Guardian will be reinstated for pre-order when a firm launch date is known," a statement from GameStop explains.

To summarize, the good news is The Last Guardian is still in development. The bad news is we still don’t have a release date.
