Sega has released Sonic compilations and Sega Genesis collections on the PlayStation 2 and Gamecube. Those are so last gen. According to multiple retail listings Sega has another bundle of classics in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The title of the rumored Sega Genesis anthology is Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection, which obviously means it will have some Sonic games from the Sega Genesis era in it. As for specific titles, who knows. We’ll have to wait until Sega formally announces it, which could be soon if it really is scheduled to come out in February 2009.
