Aksys have announced their second Nintendo 3DS game: Shifting World, a puzzle platformer developed by Fishing Cactus. The game is based on the Shift series of Flash games, originally created by Armor Games.

In Shifting World, you’re put in a room that’s partly black and partly white. By shifting colours, you change what parts of the room are solid, and make your way around obstacles to make your way to the exit. Additionally, the 3DS version has a new feature where you can switch from 2D to 3D and from 3D to 2D as well.

Aksys say the game has over 60 levels spread across Adventure, Bonus and Time Attack modes. Shifting World also has a level editor and a level generator that works by taking pictures of DataMatrix bar codes with the 3DS camera.

Shifting World is slated for release sometime in 2012 as a retail title.
