Final Fantasy Type-0 has been out in Japan for a few weeks and director Hajime Tabata mentioned to Famitsu he’s thinking about the next game in the Type series. Tabata tells the magazine nothing has been finalized, but he believes Square Enix’s plan is to create a follow up to Final Fantasy Type-0.

For a new title, Tabata would be happy if he could create a completely different world setting than the Fabula Nova Crystallis foundation. Tabata, who has been making PSP games since Crisis Core: Final Fantasy, hopes to create a console title or work with next generation hardware.

In the middle of development, the Final Fantasy Type-0 team decided to add a secret movie. There is one for players to find, but an early idea Tabata mentioned during the interview was to have the "movie" look like an adventure game. Players would hear Ace and Kurasame talking with images of them on screen.

While Tabata is planning on making a new Type series game, he really wants to make a sequel to The 3rd Birthday. Released last year, The 3rd Birthday was a Parasite Eve reboot starring Aya Brea in a third person shooter style game. What would you want to see Tabata work on? Final Fantasy Type-1 or Aya Brea’s 4th Adventure?
