Nintendo blasted the media, including us, with an announcement about an event taking place on September 18. That’s this Thursday. Instead of flat out explaining what they are doing Nintendo left a bunch of clues. According to “authorities at Nintendo” a celestial event will be visible at a handful of locations. The event only takes place on the East, in four specific locations, and viewable in a one mile radius.

WHAT: Authorities at Nintendo are forecasting an extraordinary celestial event this season. Expected to be visible on Sept. 18, this eye-popping occurrence will be best viewed from a handful of specific U.S. locations (see below). Experts are still deliberating over the scientific significance of this rare phenomenon, but evidence points clearly to the reemergence of a luminous entity that citizens from all walks of life will appreciate.

That’s a lot of Kirby and Kirby: Super Star Ultra just happens to come out next week. The two are probably connected, but what kind of launch celebration is Nintendo planning? No clue, but here are some tools maybe someone else can use to crack the event before it launches.
When spaced out according to distance here’s a potential path, if one exists for some kind of jet or Kirby sized blimp, for all four locations.
This is the celestial map for the day at noon. I realize this is probably useless since you won’t be able to see stars while the sun is shining. This reference is mainly to cross check with any symbolism. Actually, if Nintendo wanted to synchronize the release of Kirby Super Star Ultra with a legitimate celestial event they should have chose the Autumnal Equinox. Both of these and the release of Wario Ware: Shake It all occur on September 22.
