Culdcept isn’t a series known for dark and broody worlds, but the Nintendo DS version looks a tad bit more cartoony. Maybe it’s just this silly image of a king who looks like a deer in headlights that is making me think this way. Otherwise Culdcept DS looks like any other entry in the Culdcept series except Culdcept Saga. Sorry, no 3D graphics here.

However, Culdcept DS has online play over Nintendo Wi-Fi with voice chat with up to four players. That’s enough to sell Culdcept DS to me. Japan gets it on October 16 with a nifty Culdcept DS card guide as a pre-order bonus. Sega has not confirmed if they will localize Culdcept DS in other territories at this time.
