A plan to revive the leader of the Dark Dragon starts to unfold in the Dragonia Kingdom by sapping spirit energy from the land. This throws the world into chaos and the only hope is to retrieve the mysterious sword called the Shining Blade. A soul blader is given this task and also has to find a diva who can sing the Song of Mana. That’s the set up for Shining Blade, a new PSP role playing game from Sega.
The main character Reiji (the official homepage seems to call him "Rage") is a great swordsman who comes from another world. He’s sent out as the soul blader and travels with Altina, a bow wielding elf that drifted from the seas. The armored warrior Roselinde and silver wolf leader of the Dragonia resistance Fenrir are part of the team too.
Sega has not unveiled details about gameplay, but shared these tiny battle screenshots. It appears as if Shining Blade took inspiration from Valkyria Chronicles’ BLiTZ system. Shining Blade is slated for release on PSP this spring.
