Happy birthday Dreamcast!

Sega’s final console (if you don’t count all of the third party licensed Tec Toy clones in Brazil) is nine years old today. First party support for the Dreamcast ended ages ago, but indie developers continue to develop and sell games for it. We talked to Yuan-Hsi Chiang who is finishing up work on Wind and Water Puzzle Battles. Fortunately, Sega revists brands built on the Dreamcast with occasional ports. We are getting Samba de Amigo later this month. Now if they just decided to resurrect Jet Set Radio and Skies of Arcadia…

Strange, but true fact: there was an episode of South Park where Cartman dressed up like the Tooth Fairy to swipe money for a Dreamcast. Sega’s console didn’t make a major appearance like in the two part story about the Wii, but it’s mentioned numerous times.
