Nippon Ichi Software is working on a PlayStation 3 action RPG called The Witch And The Hundred Cavalrymen. The game’s story begins with Metallica, an attractive witch from the swamp, engaged in a battle with the ugly witch of the forest.
Hoping to defeat her rival, Metallica summoned one hundred cavalrymen, but she can only see one – the one you control. The main character is an armored warrior brandishing a sword. Armor seems unnecessary since the hero is immortal. Acting as an alter ego for the player, the main calvaryman can be good or evil. Summoning soldiers costs energy. Players have to eat GigaCal to restore it. Usually, Metallica can only see one soldier, but players will have a chance to use the other 99 by making Metallica summon for them.
Nippon Ichi boasts their dark fantasy game will be sandbox style. Players can take on sub-quests and it’s even possible to attack an innocent villager sitting next to you. Each character has a relationship parameter and if you upset a tribe the town will react to your character in a different way. For more details about the game’s open world features read this story.
The Witch and the Hundred Calvarymen is a new intellectual property for NIS America and the Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero, Dood team. They were chosen because of their know how when it comes to making action games.
