When Namco Bandai shows a Dragon Ball game Atari is going to localize it. Case and point: Dragon Ball Origins aka Dragon Ball DS. Atari announced the DS game is on its way to Europe in December 2008. Dragon Ball Origins puts players in control of young Goku set in the original Dragon Ball series.

This isn’t a fighting game either. Dragon Ball Origins shares more in common with the Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass than any of the Dragon Ball Z Budokai games. You control Goku by dragging him on the touch screen and prodding enemies with the stylus. An icon in the middle of the screen lets you switch between Goku’s fists and the power pole. Bulma assists Goku on the quest to find the Dragon Balls by building machines, but in the early stages of the game you’re being her bodyguard.

Atari has not announced Dragon Ball Origins for North America at this time. We’re certain an announcement is pending though.
