l’Cie are part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis mythology. Those branded to be l’Cie are given a mission or a Focus by the fal’Cie. Gilgamesh is from Lorican and granted the power of the Genbu crystal, but he forgot his Focus. In Final Fantasy Type-0, Gilgamesh appears as a colossal boss.
Zhuyu, revealed in Dengeki PlayStation, is a l’Cie from Suzaku, the nation where Class Zero comes from. Being from Suzaku, Zhuyu can control fire, the symbol of his home country. Years have passed since Zhuyu turned into a l’Cie and he is beginning to lose his emotions. He continues to wear his cadet uniform as a reminder of who he once was.
Qun’mi comes from the Milites Empire and is one of your enemies. She’s dressed in full metal armor, complete with a helmet. Even though she has only been a l’Cie for a short time, Qun’mi has great faith in herself. She can push the power of her weapons beyond normal limits. Screenshots from the magazine show her using a crystal jammer to fire a missile barrage and a magical armor called Dáinsleif.
The magazine also had a few more tidbits about Class Zero. Trey, who was introduced in V-Jump, uses a bow and arrow. One of his abilities is Arrow Rain, which showers the enemies in arrows. It’s possible for players to adjust the trajectory of the arrows. Cater’s special ability is Attribute Shot. Using her magic gun, she can imbue bullets with fire or freezing properties without spending any MP. Cinque, who wields a mace, can shake the ground with Earthquake. This move sends out a shockwave that stuns nearby enemies. Speaking of battles, other characters like Kurasame can join your active party who was shown as a level 54 character.
Final Fantasy Type-0 comes for PSP out on October 13 in Japan.
