Elevator Action Deluxe isn’t just Elevator Action with HD graphics. Square Enix gave the game a facelift, added music by Darius band Zunata, and added a bunch of gimmicks. Single player mode has new weapons like machine guns and lasers plus high-speed elevators and long ropes to play with. The "secret documents" in Elevator Action Deluxe are a nostalgia trip too. See, the spies are actually carrying pamphlets from classic Taito titles.
Offline multiplayer for up to four players is brand new and Famitsu gave us a preview of the modes. In 1-door battle players race to grab files from a red door that appears. 8-door battle is similar, except it has 8-doors. Elevator Action Deluxe also has a deathmatch mode where its spy vs. spy. Whoever has the most points at the end wins.
Elevator Action Deluxe includes the arcade classic as part of the package too. North America gets the game via PlayStation Network on August 30 for $9.99. Elevator Action Deluxe will be available for Japan and Europe on August 31 for €9.99 or £7.99 or 1,200 yen, depending on which region you’re in.
