Sony just dropped the price of the PlayStation 3 from its previous $300 price point. The system now costs as much as the PlayStation Vita, at $249 in North America, 249 Euros in Europe, and 24,980 yen in Japan.

 

Just which model of the PlayStation 3 this is — including specifications like hard disc space — hasn’t been announced. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

 

Update: The PlayStation 3 model on sale is the 160GB version.
