Bakuman DS Game Has Players Create A Manga

Namco Bandai announced they’re working on a game based on the Bakuman series. In Bakuman: The Way of a Manga Artist you’re going to feel what’s it is like to be Moritaka Mashiro because you’re going to make a manga.

The game is broken into different stages where you help Akito Takagi create a story an name important scenes. Takagi’s parts look like puzzle games since players have to pick the correct kana to spell out words.

As Mashiro, you have to trace lines and fill in frames before time runs out. Make a mistake and you get a time penalty.

Bakuman: The Way of a Manga Artist may be a licensed game, but there are some novel gameplay mechanics were made to fit the series theme. Namco Bandai plan to release the Nintendo DS game in Japan this winter.
