We’ve seen Voltron aka GoLion appear as a character in Super Robot Taisen. This October, the robot lions are getting their own game care of THQ and Wet developer Behavior Interactive.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe is based on the 1980s anime series where five pilots from the planet Arus battle King Zarkon and the never ending Robeasts created by Haggar. As a license, there are plenty of directions a Voltron game could go in. Behavior settled on an action adventure game where five players each control their own lion online. Each lion has their own strengths and weaknesses.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe also supports co-operative play for two offline and there’s a single player mode that THQ has yet to outline. Voltron: Defender of the Universe is slated for release on October 25 on PlayStation Network and October 26 on Xbox Live Arcade. Both versions will cost $10.
