Surprise! Fate/Extra the Type Moon RPG from Luminous Arc developer Imageepoch is coming to North America thanks to Aksys.

Kinoko Nasu, creator of Fate/stay Night for PC, wrote the story for the PSP games. Set in the Fate universe fans will see familiar characters and a narrative with themes such as loyalty, death, love, and what it means to be human. Here’s a summary of the story.

Waking up in a strange virtual world with no recollection of the past, the main character finds themselves forced to fight for survival in a war they do not understand for a prize beyond value; the opportunity to have one’s wish granted. With only an enigmatic Servant, mysterious Legendary Souls drawn from the whole of human history, by their side the protagonist will have to face both friends and foes in battles to the death in order to not only gain possession of a mysterious object known as the "Holy Grail", but also to find the answer to the most important question of all: "Who am I?"

Fate/Extra has dialogue trees and branching story paths that ultimately lead to different endings. Even choices like the gender of the main character you pick change the way the scenario plays out. Fate/Extra will be released on PSP, in stores and PSN, later this year.
