PlayStation Archives cash out with slot machines and Jade Cocoon

Sony updated Japan’s PlayStation Store with even more “classic” PsOne games. I put classic in quotes since most gamers won’t consider three of Yamasa Entertainment’s digital slot machines “classic” material. In any case they are available for PlayStation 3 and PSP owners for the low price of 300 yen ($2.75), which is half the price of a usual downloadable PsOne game.

Other titles on the store this week include Crash Bandicoot Racing, which Sony released on the PlayStation Store in Europe, and Jade Cocoon. Genki developed the PsOne RPG with the help of one of Studio Ghilbi’s character designers. Jade Cocoon looks gorgeous for an early PsOne title, but I remember it being pretty short. If Sony Computer Entertainment America gets around to re-releasing it on the PlayStation Store for $6 it might be worth a look.

Right now I’m considering Acid, a blocky 3D game by Hamster. If only it was 300 yen like Sony’s product page lists in error.

The following games are 600 yen ($5.50):

Tamamayu Monogatari (Jade Cocoon)

Crash Bandicoot Racing

Acid

The following games are 300 yen ($2.75):

Yamasa Digi Guide: M-771

Yamasa Digi Guide: New Pulsar R

Yamasa Digi Guide: Hyper Rush
